The creator of the post -apocalyptic shooter Road to Vostok spoke about the production of the game and the differences from Escape from Tarkov

Hardcore at the first person Road to Vostok with survival elements, the actions of which are unfolding in an alternative post -apocalyptic world, was announced in early 2022. The project is created by only one experienced developer and visually much resembles Escape from Tarkov, but the game has much more unique mechanic than it might seem at first glance. The creator of the shooter himself decided to share the uniqueness of Road to Vostok and the interesting features of the production.

Road to Vostok is a hardcore survival game for one player whose action takes place in the post -apocalyptic border zone between Finland and UK. Players need to survive, rob, plan and prepare their way through the border zone to go east.

Gameplay from the demo version of Road to Vostok:

According to the author of the game, he has gone to prepare Road to Vostok for a whole year to prepare for the production of the game, which is a very unusual practice for an indie project from a single developer. Modern releases in Steam, as a rule, immediately begin to develop the game, without much planning and testing a mechanic on the project engine. The creator of the game explained that he personally developed more than twenty tools for the engine special for his project, which later helped him to establish a quick efficient study of the gaming mechanic. He is not going to focus on advanced visual technologies, instead he wants to focus on expanding game capabilities.

In my opinion, in recent years there have not been so many innovations and passions to create high -quality, realistic jewelry for survival. Most of the indie IGR, who claim to bring it to the genre, usually fail or switch from one project to another. Personally, I no longer plan to do any other projects in my career, and all my attention and passion are aimed at this single mission and goal-to make the best hardcore survival game.

– said the developer Road to Vostok.

The author also decided to comment on the comparison of Road to Vostok with the domestic shooter Escape from Tarkov. He admitted that both games have similar elements, since both games are created on Unity, and the environment is similar on a geographical scale, but the developer is inspired by a completely different project. According to him, he seeks to make Road to Vostok similar to s.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Anomaly, where progress is more attached to the game world, and there are elements of permanent death and survival, as in Dayz. In addition, the Road to Vostok will implement a full -fledged plot story and a more survival mechanic, such as breeding a fire, cooking, fishing, manufacture of homemade equipment and so on, is presented.
