Redfall continues to punch the bottom on the online in Steam, approaching two -digit values
Redfall plays shocking few players for the multi-user AAA-Igra, who barely turned two weeks.
Redfall released on May 2 – the last game from the veterans of the industry from Arkane Studios belonging to the subsidiary of Microsoft Zenimax Media. Although most of the developer’s catalog consists of such recognized critics of games as Dishonored and Prey, Redfall debuted as one of the lowest -rating games in Steam for all the time. The bad reception of critics coincided with unsatisfactory sales, which were probably additionally influenced by the release of the game on the same day on Xbox Game Pass.
And if the number of players on the day of Redfall launch was already bad news for the game, then the current information shows that the base of the players has fallen to the new minimum. According to Steamdb, the peak Redfall on May 16 – 376 simultaneous players, which on May 8 was about a thousand players. Judging by the first 15 days in the market, Redfall is currently on the way to sink below 200 daily players by the end of the month, and there are not far from two -digit numbers.
For comparison, in The Witcher 2: Assassin’s of Kings, the 2011 game, the peak of simultaneous players on May 16 was 582 players. Gothic 3 of 2006, reached a peak of 630 simultaneous players in Steam on the same day. For a more direct comparison, in Dishonored from Arkane 11 years ago there were 560 simultaneously active players over the past 24 hours. In fact, all the developer games released over the past decade, with the exception of Wolfenstein: Youngblood for this period have been more daily players in Steam than in Redfall.
Given that the problem cooperative shooter is also available on Xbox Series X/S and is part of the Xbox Game Pass, Steam directory, most likely is the smallest platform in terms of popularity. However, these new data still draw a gloomy picture for the recently published AAA-Igra, which has held years in development and is largely oriented towards multiplayer. Although Arkane previously stated that she has ambitious plans for Redfall content after launch, it is likely that her weak reception and falling popularity will affect her determination to support the game.
At the same time, the Redfall developer has already begun work on his next game. Although there is not much known about this mysterious project, Redfall’s unsuccessful debut suggests that the upcoming Arkane game can marked a return to one -user experience with RPG elements, which are so famous for the developer.
