In Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be a “fully modeled” whip

At yesterday’s presentation of Xbox Developer_Direct, Machinegames, Bethesda and Microsoft presented Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and, of course, we were able to see the cloth of indie. The whip can be used for various game actions – from fighting to stealth and movement, and Machinegames talked about how she worked to make the players feel confident when they control it.

In an interview with Lucasarts, Director of the game, Jerk Gustafson, said that the whip in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle "fully modeled" up to the smallest. According to Gustafsson, although this created additional technical difficulties, but at the same time made it possible to make the game more realistic and mundane.

Our main goal is to make it as useful and universal as possible, ”Gustafsson said, answering the question of what players can expect from a whip in The Great Circle. Usually, when we think about the whip, it comes to mind as a tool for moving around, swinging and climbing. But when we started working on it, we focused primarily on the battles, because we knew that it would be the most difficult part of the game. It was necessary not only to make it work perfectly in battle, but also in combination with other significant game elements, such as hand -to -hand combat and using improvised objects.

In addition, we decided to use a completely modeled whip, which complicated the task from a technical point of view, but we got the very realistic and cool effect that is so important to us.

Machinegames also confirmed that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be mainly the first-person game, although in the KAT scenes and some sections of the gameplay, such as the environment, the third-person view will be used.

The release of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is planned this year for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
